Analiza została poszerzona o dane biograficzne ponad stu wybranych przemysłowców i informacje o ich rodzinach, uwzględniające szerszy kontekst czasowy i przestrzenny.

Entrepreneurs of the Kingdom of Poland at the Turn of the Twentieth Century
The book is devoted to the bourgeoise of the Kingdom of Poland (so-called Congress Poland) in the first years of the twentieth century (until the outbreak of World War One), with a particular focus on owners of industrial enterprises. Based on address books issued in that period, an index of the Kingdom's more affluent entrepreneurs was compiled as well as a database of information about them, which has been made available from an online repository. To broaden the perspective, biographical data on one hundred selected industrialists and their families were also analysed, providing for a wider spatial and temporal context. This allowed for writing a collective, prosopographic portrait of the group at the peak of its development in Polish territories, both in terms of accumulation and concentration of economic capital by the Polish elite and its influence on culture and politics. Preceding that portrait is an extensive introduction setting the Polish bourgeoise of the period against the European background and a sociological analysis of the bourgeoise's role in processes of modernisation.
